On Friday, we went canoeing on the Blackwater River with our friends Molly and Andy. We took a picnic and celebrated Andy's birthday with cupcakes! We even saw some great wildlife.
After canoeing, John took me to The Melting Pot in Destin for dinner. I have always wanted to go there, and we weren't let down -- it was SOO yummy!
Saturday night our ward had a Sweethearts Dinner and Ball. While the turnout was small, the fun was immense! A few of our friends were there, and we even learned how to dance to "old" music. We switched up partners and I found dancing with the old men the most fun! They sure love dancing! Us young 'uns were obviously a bit lost, but the old folks were really in their element!
On Monday, Molly and Andy took us to Pensacola to a Jazz Concert. It was so fun. We ate gumbo, buffalo wings, fries, and even danced! Thanks, Molly and Andy!! It was great!

Looks like fun! I love canoeing! You liked the Melting Pot? I was suppose to go for my birthday but we kind of forgot. But now I'm excited all over again! And good job dancing! Old men are fun to dance with because they know so much. I wish it was a more common thing for us "young" ones. Adam is finally willing to take a class so maybe I'll find one up here. You guys are always so cute in all your pictures!
Hello!!!! That weekend had so much stuff in it -- did you ever sleep? I'm soooo jealous now!!!! I'm glad you were able to have such a wonderful celebration for Valentine's Day!
You look great! What the heck is gumbo?
Wow you guys have been busy, I love all the outdoors things you guys are doing, sometimes in the midst of the concert jungle where I reside I forget about all that glorious nature!! The melting pot is so good!
Emily,
I do not know if you remember me, but I saw your posting on Sarah's blog and I lived in Maeser 76. Where in Colorado is your husband from? Because I am from Littleton and went to Arapahoe High School and right now my family and I live in Castle Rock. So where are you guys at? Did you get married in the Bountiful Temple? Are you from there, because my husband is from there? Sorry lots of questions, but it is definitely a small mormon world.
