The Lord Giveth

The connection between Heaven and Earth is so thin, and so real. Thin because those we love surround us, lift us, and strengthen us. Real because it separates us. Last Monday brought those two worlds together again for me -- John Harold Alley, Jr. was born. I can't even begin to describe the feelings of love and gratitude that overcame me when he was placed in my arms. Knowing that this little one has both a father and mother for eternity makes our little family complete.

I delivered at Lakeview Hospital in Bountiful at 8:40 pm. The labor was long and difficult (40+ hrs) and I witnessed many tender mercies of our Lord, culminating in a miraculous delivery performed by a skilled doctor. I was supported every step of the way by my amazing mother, sister Tami (who drove down from Idaho), and sister-in-law Julie (who drove over from Colorado). I will forever be grateful for my little team! Johnny was 7 lbs 3 oz, 19 inches long with a whole head of dark hair. He is a happy baby and a complete joy to be around.
