I guess it's time for an update. I am 32 weeks pregnant and feeling great. Everything has been going really well. Little Johnny is very active and likes to remind me of his presence with his constant acrobatics. Sometimes I think he's trying to find his way out. I am sure he's going to be very good at sports, just like his daddy. His favorite time of day is midnight, which I hope he changes once he is born. He likes healthy food more than anything, and has created in me an insatiable appetite for boiled beets. One of our favorite things is taking evening walks together. We've been having such a fun time getting to know each other. I can hardly wait for him to be born.
For those of you who might be interested, I have decided on a natural childbirth, centered on the principles of Hypnobirthing. Don't knock it until you learn more about it. It's not weird voo-doo stuff or anything. The method focuses on relaxation, breathing, and visualization and taking the fear out of birthing. My sister introduced it to me. I have really enjoyed reading and learning about it. I am excited to be part of the birth process and to witness the miracle of life. I know John will be there supporting me every step of the way.

You look great. Congratulations on the baby. We can't wait to see him :)
You look awesome and that picture is really cute! I read about hypnobirthing when I was pregnant with Isabella. It seems like an awesome thing! I read a book about it and kind of tried it but I wish I had been able to take a class and get more in depth with it because I think it could actually work. I'm excited to hear how it goes for you. Good luck!
You look great! I wish that I could have looked like you when I was pregnant! Good luck with everything! I have heard really good things about hypnobirthing. My dad (John Kitzmiller) wanted me to pass along a hello. I am glad that you are doing well!!
Hey Emily! You look so great! Good luck with the hypnobirthing! I read about it lots when I was pregnant and I have a friend who LOVED it too.
I love the update. I can't believe you're 32 weeks! You make pregnant look good girl! Good luck with the birth, it's not as bad as everyone makes it sound. Plus in the end you have your little bundle of joy and it's all totally worth it. I know John will be there too. It's going to be a wonderful experience, I just know it.
Hi Emily- I did hypnobirthing with my son and LOVED every minute of the experience... even with lots of pitocin and NO epidural! I will continue to do hypnobirthing for my future children. Best of luck to you with this new adventure. I am excited for you. :)
That is the cutest picture! You look beautiful! Yeah for the countdown! It's fun to hear about the wonderful bonding, too. Beets, eh? I wonder if he'll like them when he's 5...
You'll have to tell me all about hypnobirthing. So, far I'm all for the no pain thing. But who knows... I'm sooooo excited and it will be fun to see you as a mother.
You look amazing! It was fun to read about you and Johhny getting to know each other and taking walks. It's so fun to feel babies moving in your tummy and starting to get to know their personalities before you even really meet them! You're going to be an amazing mom. As for hypnobirthing...i wish you THE very best. I am a beleiver in a womans right to choose what is best for her. We're blessed, as women, to know what is best for us. It's going to be great and you're going to have a wonderful experience. I can't wait to see the little guy!
Emily! Thanks for posting! I'm so glad you're going natural and doing hypnobirthing. I did hypnobabies, which is similar. I'm glad I did it. It was still difficult but definitely do-able and worth it. Giving birth is an amazing experience, not just something to "get through" so the baby can be born. I hope you are planning to have someone there to push on your lower back and coach you when needed. That and walking around A LOT during labor made a huge difference for me, in addition to my hypnobabies preparation. Another thing that really helped was being part of a yahoo group where women posted their natural, hypnotic birth stories. It gave me a lot of confidence. Here's a url: http://www.pregnancybirthandbabies.com/Yahoo%20Group.htm. Well hope I didn't overwhelm you with this long post but I'm excited about your birthing decision.
Awww, you look so pretty! And I love your hair! Wishing you the best in your labor/delivery; I don't know anything about hypnobirth but it sounds facinating. Maybe I should try it for my next c-section? LOL - j/k of course ;) Miss you.
You are so dang cute! I'm so excited for you. Keep us updated!

Emily, you look AMAZING! There is such a special thing about seeing you pregnant with Little John....such an outpouring of love for all of you. You will be great at whatever you choose to do, and like Kara said, it really isn't as bad as everyone makes it sound--you do it because you have to and there's no way around that, and everyone will make it the best experience for you overall. I sure love you!! (P.S. Are you going to come visit us soon?!)
Emily! You really do look beautiful! I'm so glad that you updated! I have been thinking about you and am glad to know that everything is going well with you and the baby!
Pregnancy pictures shouldn't be glamor shots, Emily! Your looking really great. I've had friends do hypnobirthing and laud it. With the Wilbur constitution you should be fine.
I love this update! You are so beautiful & it's so fun to hear the details about your little one! I'm glad things are going so well for you! And 2 of my very best friends both swear by hypnobabies so I believe them! John will definitely be there -- & he'll be so proud of you b/c you'll do great!!!
You're looking so beautiful Emily! Good luck on the birth. You're brave going the non medicated way. I labored all the way to a 10 without any meds with my second, and boy was that an experience! You'll do great! Can't wait to hear about it all and see the little one.
Emily,
You look so adorable pregnant. I am so glad that you posted a picture. I hope that your birthing process goes well. You are truly amazing!
You couldn't look cuter Emily! Good for you for going natural . . . you'll have to let me know what you think of it! We're so excited for you!
I hope this isn't weird but I a good friends of Luke & Mary's and now your family too! I met you this weekend but not officially and saw your blog and got really excited! I am sooo excited for your baby!!! I know he'll be soo handsome!!
My good friend had both her kids using hypnobirthing and she really liked it. I think it's an awesome feeling to know you are truly a part of something so amazing. Besides the fact that the healing time is often faster!! :) Good luck and I can't wait to see pictures of your beautiful baby!
You look great, Emily! Being pregnant is such an amazing (and hard) thing. It's so great to catch little bits of their personality even before they're born. Little John sounds so fun. That's cool that you're doing hypnobirthing. Did you know Christina did that, too? She said it worked really well for her. My little girl came so quickly that I had her naturally and it was okay. I made it through it. So for next time (which is probably quite aways off. :) ) I thought I'd try some hypnobirthing techniques. I know modern medicine is a miracle and I'm thankful for it, but I also think a natural birth is very beneficial to both baby and mother. Anyway, take care!
You will have to tell me more about hypnobirthing later. I want to do natural birth, when we decide to have kids one day! I am so proud of you! You are such an example to those around you!
You look amazing!!! I'm glad the pregnancy is going well. I have only heard good things about Northing and I can definately say that mommy's recovery from going naturally is a great deal easier. I hope hope the rest of the pregnancy continues to go smoothly for you. Good luck! :)
Ah Wilbur Wilbur...beautfiul as ever. I agree with Shanny, pregnancy pics should not look so good but since you look great, keep on posting them. It was great to have lunch with you in July and hope to see this little guy in person! Come visit AZ if you ever get a free moment!
Oh and glad you decided on the natural childbirth! I would've have stuck with it if the docs didn't force an epidural in me...they hate doing emergency c-sections with out them I guess! hehe
I found your blog through blogger, & you have such a cute little family! I just wanted to share a giveaway I am hosting... its at http://nowwhatdoyouthinkaboutthat.blogspot.com/

I watched your amazing sister deliver without drugs and I have never seen anything more beautiful. She made it look like anyone could do it. You can do it! Wilbur women are amazing. You are in my thoughts often.
Yay!!! I'm so excited for you =) Except, boiled beets.......really????
You look fantastic. We think of you often. You affected our family on a very spiritual level while being involved in young womens. Thank you!
You don't know me, but I knew John in High School. He was an awsome guy who was nice to every one. I am sorry, but I just found your blog. I would have said written sooner if I could. I think that you look great!!!!!! I have a 14 month old and all I can say is that children are wonderful. You have been so blessed with having this wonderful little being inside you. I know that John is with you and the baby at all times and will remain that way untill you are together again. If you need any thing, please let me know.
