At TWO...

At 2 years of age, here's a few things about Johnny. He . . .

• is in the 40% for weight/height and still 95% for head
  
• can talk in complete sentences and has an incredible ability at enunciating words
• can start and end prayers on his own
• says "please" and "thank you" without being prompted
• says "oh, bless you" when he sneezes
  
• knows his colors, mostly
  
• can sing the alphabet song up to "G" and then fudges the rest
  
• can count up to three, but knows the names for numbers up to 16
• is a great sleeper. Goes to bed around 7:30 and wakes up around 7:30. Takes one nap during the day for 2-3 hours.
• has grown attached to his blankey
• says "green light, go!" and "red light, stop!" when I'm driving
• is still an excellent eater and is not picky
• drinks out of a regular cup (has for many months)
• is learning to do a somersault
• loves watching trains on the internet
• is obedient with time-outs
• is starting to throw more tantrums
• requests songs at bedtime and sings along with me. Favorite songs include "I am a Child of God," "Marvelous Toy," "Appletree," "Over in the Meadow," and "Teddy Bears Picnic."
• is still sleeping in a port-o-crib
• has not attempted potty training
• still struggles with his eczema
  
• enjoys nursery (at church)
  
• loves pretending he's on the cell phone by holding his hand to his ear. I often catch him talking to Danny and Melanie or Alan and Whitney or Grandpa or, today, Caleb.
  
• still likes playing hide-n-seek in my closet
• likes helping me clean the house and cook
• his favorite food is spaghetti
• often tells me he loves me, out of the blue
• lets me brush and floss his teeth every night
• loves reading books
• loves looking at pictures of daddy and mommy
• is a lot of work! and a lot of fun, too!
